New DNA Submission Form INSTRUCTIONS

After several questions and comments, we decided it was time to turn to the programmers at DigitalBeef and re quest a change be made regarding DNA submission forms. This new process is predominantly helpful because all you need to do is select the animal in your herd that you want to test, and the system fills in the rest! This includes tattoo, sire, dam, birthdate, sex, etc. You can then print this form and mail it to the office with your samples. Keep reading for a picture walk-through and be on the lookout for a tutorial video, which should be up on the website by the time you receive this issue! BW  This new process will only work for testing animals that are already recorded or registered in DigitalBeef – meaning you can test “P” number animals, too.

1. Begin by logging into your DigitalBeef account. There are two ways to queue up your animals to test. First, be sure you are on your General Profile Information page. Then click “Herd,” followed by “All,” which will bring up all active animals currently in your herd.

2. Next, click the box to the right of the animal you wish to test in the “DNA” column. It will then say “Queued.” You can click as many animals at one time as you’d like.

3. On the lefthand menu, click “Herd Mgmt” followed by “DNA.”
