Genomic-Enhanced EPDs

As some of you may have heard, the American Angus Association has changed from a “Multi-Step”process to a “One-Step” process for Genomic-Enhanced EPDs. Having witnessed firsthand the tremendous inaccuracies with the Multi-Step process, it seems prudent, at least right out of the gate, to be suspect of the accuracy of the new One-Step process. Many in academia are claiming it’s an accurate selection tool, but they made the same claims of the Multi-Step process. Providing our CUSTOMERS with ACCURATE data in order to help you in your bull-buying decisions is of the UTMOST importance to us. We take the responsibility of providing you with quality seedstock very seriously. Therefore, we believe it’s in our customers’ best interest to take a wait-and-see stance on the new One-Step process. For these reasons we have not printed any Genomic- Enhanced EPDs in our catalog. In an effort to study, monitor and learn about the new One-Step process, we have DNA tested specific lot numbers and that information will be available sale day. You can view their One-Step Enhanced EPDs two ways.We will have them available sale day or a few days prior to the sale. They should also be available if you type in the bull’s name or registration number at www.angus.org/Animal/EpdPedSearch.aspx.
