HeartBrand Beef works closely with AAA to offer a premium with their buyback program. This provides a market for your calves. HeartBrand Beef will offer an above-market bid for calves that can fit into our all-natural beef program. Here are the requirements for this buyback program:

 DNA verified through the AAA to be 50 percent Akaushi or greater  No added hormones  No added growth promotants  All vegetarian fed There are a few other ques- tions that will come up during this process:  Location  Age  Type  Estimated weight  Current nutrients such as grass or grain  Number of head per sex HeartBrand Beef will also need to know if you have a place to weigh the animals and if you have the setup to load a double-deck cattle trailer. Finally, we will need to know where to send the check! Oh, and that DNA charge I mentioned earlier. HeartBrand Beef will reimburse you for the cost of DNA verifying your calves. There are many options with HeartBrand’s buyback pro- gram. Time of the year is not an issue. When they are ready, we are ready. We can also look at options such as partnering during finish feeding, or you can choose to feed them out. Keep in mind, though, with this option they will still need to fit in our all-natural program. In an ideal purchasing situ- ation, HeartBrand likes to see calves that weigh fewer than 900 pounds and are under 1 year of age. Calves need to be weaned with at least their first round of vaccinations. We encourage ranchers to check their calves to make sure they are good, marketable cattle. Back to the Bill Gates’ quote.
