Catalog will be posted and available digitally online at www.redalliance.biz and www.CCI.Live Hard copies of catalogs will only be available on sale day in Groesbeck. Inconsistency of bulk mail delivery by the U.S. Postal Service has led us to this decision. Our customers have grown comfortable with this method and we appreciate the acceptance. If you prefer to have a copy of the catalog emailed to you please call or text any member of our team with your email address. Welcome! The U.S. and Texas/Oklahoma/Louisiana region cow herd numbers have dropped significantly, primarily due to drought conditions. But the tough and smart operators are finding ways to manage through the challenges. Fewer cattle = fewer calves, resulting in some record-breaking calf prices. Those prices are only going to get higher and will be sustained for quite some time. Heifer retention is at an all-time low; therefore, herd expansion simply does not exist. Our biggest threat for calf prices comes from imported beef. We must produce more pounds of beef in order to fill market demand. This Red Angus bull offering is focused on growth traits with only a few calving ease bulls. With very few heifers being retained, the need for calving ease bulls has subsided. We are providing what you and the market need in these economic conditions – growth and more pounds! This offering is providing a select number of registered and commercial females for customers who want to join in the growth of their Red Angus herd. There is a good selection to choose from, and we welcome you to evaluate these females. We will see you on September 28! The Red Alliance Team

The Red Alliance Program The Red Alliance program is built in the same manner as large ranches that utilize Cooperator Herd systems, the only exception being that each of our producers retain their ranch identity (Herd Prefix tattoo). We do not add a master prefix before the cooperator’s prefix. Our members strongly subscribe to the use of artificial insemination, embryo transfer and outstanding herd sires in order to stay on the leading edge of genetic opportunities for our customers. It is the same general philosophy employed by all of the top breeder programs in the U.S., Red Alliance bulls are screened and evaluated multiple times – non-performers are eliminated. We develop the best bulls possible to maximize your profitability!

The Red Alliance Team Below is our team of professional Red Angus bull and female producers. If you have any questions regarding Red Angus cattle in the auction, feel free to give these folks a call.

Groesbeck Auction & Livestock Facility

We love this sale facility. The people are great, the location is in the heart of Texas and it has an excellent restaurant on location. It is without question one of the cleanest and well-maintained facilities we have ever seen. We want to thank Stephen Bradley and other owners of this facility for welco ming us to their fine establishment. One aspect of their sale facility that we absolutely love is that the seating area is large. With all of the concerns about social distancing, the ample seating area is ideal. The large seating area, combined with online bidding through CCI.Live, will make our sale very safe for everyone to attend, whether it is in person or virtually. Folks, you will be very impressed and pleased with this facility!

Red Alliance Bull Development Center

Red Alliance Bull Development Center, located at Five Counties Ranch

We take great pride in our bull development. We also greatly appreciate Five Counties Ranch for their facilities, pastures and bull development program. Bull development is led by Keith Ogren and his team. They do an absolutely wonderful job. He is supported administratively by Cortney Young, who is equally important to our team. We could not be happier with the service and quality of care they provide. One aspect that we appreciate and that our customers value considerably is that the way our bulls are handled creates calm demeanors. Year in and year out, the disposition of our bulls starts at home but is further defined by Keith and his team. We cannot thank them enough. Our bulls are develo ped in large grass pastures on high-quality Bermuda grass or hay, minerals and supplemented gradually at 1.5% of their body weight with a textured feed ration developed by LNC’s

professional nutritionists. They grow, with an emphasis on growing, not fattening. No bulk feeders. We want to deliver bulls to our customers in a body condition that fully expresses their genetic potential but, most important, ensures they’re ready to hit your pastures in an athletic condition. forage supplemented through the feed ration. Most of them push for high average daily gains (ADG) with some reaching 4+ lbs. per day in order to reach high yearling weights. Bull development has a completely different end result than feeding a group of steers intended for maximum gain to reach kill weights as quickly as possible. As a result, their bulls get overfed, develop soft feet and do not have the stamina to WORK due to lack of exercise. You will not find that to be the case with our bulls. We encourage you to go to our website and read two very fine articles posted for your viewing. The first one is a white paper written by the experts at the Red Angus Association. It is titled, rightfully so, “Why all the Fat Bulls?” It is a 12-page document and, since it is written by an objective third party, you can appreciate the unbiased view of experts. The document is well worth the time it takes to read. In addition, you will find a separate document written by Heather Smith Thomas titled “Feeding and Managing Young Bulls.” We subscribe to their recommendations.

Red Angus Guide to EPDS and Indexes

ProS ... Profitability and Sustainability is an all-purpose index that predicts average economic differences in all segments in the beef supply chain. This index is a combination of the breeding objectives modeled in the HerdBuilder and GridMaster selection indexes. In this index, replacement heifers are retained from within the herd and all remaining progeny are fed out to slaughter and sold on a quality-based grid. Traits included in this index include calving ease, growth, HPG, STAY, Mature Weight, Dry Matter Intake and carcass traits. The resulting index is expressed in dollars per head born (Index/High Value).

HB ..... HerdBuilder is a maternal selection index that predicts the economic differences of animals for traits that are important from conception through weaning. Expressed as dollars per head born, HB is calculated based on the scenario that bulls are mated to heifers and cows, replacement heifers are retained and all remaining progeny are marketed at weaning. Traits included in the HB index include Calving Ease Direct, Calving Ease Maternal, Weaning Weight, Milk, Mature Weight, Heifer Pregnancy and Stayability (Index/High Value).

GM..... GridMaster is a selection index that predicts the average economic difference of non-replacement calves through the post weaning phase of production. GM places selection pressure on growth, feedyard performance and carcass traits. Expressed as dollars per head born, GM is calculated based on the scenario that progeny are fed out to slaughter and marketed on a quality-based carcass grid. Traits included in GM include Average Daily Gain, Carcass Weight, Dry Matter Intake, Marbling, Back Fat and Rib Eye Area (Index/High Value).

CED .......Calving Ease Direct predicts differences in the percent of calves born unassisted out of 2-year-old dams. (Percent/High Value) BW ........Birth Weight predicts differences in actual birth weight of progeny. (Pounds/Low Value) WW .......Weaning Weight predicts differences in 205-day weaning weight. (Pounds/High Value) YW ........Yearling Weight predicts differences in 365-day yearling weight. (Pounds/High Value) ADG .......Average Daily Gain predicts differences in weight gain between 205 and 365 days of age. (Pounds/High Value) DMI .......Dry Matter Intake predicts differences in daily feed intake as measured in a feedlot during the post-weaning period. (Pounds/Low Value) MILK .....Milk predicts differences in weaning weight attributed to the milking ability of the animal’s daughters. (Pounds/High Value) ME ........Maintenance Energy predicts the difference in maintence energy requirements. (Mcal per Month/Low Value) HPG .......Heifer Pregnancy predicts differences in the percent of daughters who are able to conceive and calve at 2 years of age following exposure to breeding. (Percent/High Value)

CEM ......Calving Ease Maternal predicts differences in the percent of daughters who are able to calve unassisted as 2-year-old heifers. (Percent/High Value) STAY ......Stayability predicts differences in the ability of an animals’ retained daughters to remain productive in the herd – calve every year – through 6 years of age. (Percent/High Value) MARB ....Marbling predicts differences in marbling score – amount of intramuscular fat measured at the 13th rib. (Marbling Score Units/High Value) YG .........Yield Grade predicts differences in USDA Yield Grade, which is calculated using CW, REA and Fat. (Yield Grade Units/Low Value) CW ........Carcass Weight predicts differences in actual hot carcass weight. (Pounds/High Value) REA .......Ribeye Area predicts differences in square inches of ribeye area measured at the 13th rib.(Square Inches/High Value) FAT ........Fat predicts differences in the depth of backfat measured between the 12th and 13th ribs. (Inches/Low Value)

Our bulls are developed in environments that are the same as what they will experience in your pastures: hot, dry summers, cold winters, wind-driven rain, sleet, ice and all on grass pastures. Just like what you have on your ranches. Our photos represent clipped heads, tails and sheaths; they are in their working clothes. They were not developed in a feedlot pen like steers going to a packer. All photos in this catalog were taken in the heat of July and August, so their progression since that time will be better reflected in our videos that will be posted online at www.redalliance.biz and at www.CCI.Live . The sire groups represented are excellent. AGE-ADVANTAGED RED ANGUS BULLS

The shape and design of this herd sire prospect has caught the attention of everyone who has seen him. He has excellent phenotype, unique structure and a smooth stride. He is going to be the type of sire that will produce electrifying females. Note in the reference sire photos how comparable he is to his sire, PIE Fullback 9135. What could make this lead-off bull even more attractive to consider? His dam! She is a beautifully made WFL Merlin daughter that contributed quite well to the final product. K6 is her first calf. She has an outstanding future in our Red Alliance program. Finally, his EPDs are geared toward what we need in today’s market. Power and growth on his WW and YW traits.

What a beast! Heavy muscling, big middle, plenty of hip, square and straight. Sired by one of the most exciting new herd sire additions to our Red Alliance program, KJL Domain 0102H. He has thrived in the mesquite tree flats in west Texas near Rising Star, hustling on native grass pasture and naturally short hair. All of his sons and daughters have been eye-popping good! One of the most attractive bulls we have in this offering and perhaps one of the best we have ever offered. Lots of length, beautifully designed muscle pattern and excellent bone structure! His sire, 8224, is pure raw meat and muscle, sired by Gilchrist High Endurance. Take one look at the photo of High Endurance and then look at K22. Lots of resemblance. Very well balanced EPD profile. Whether you want to produce ground pounding commercial steers, replacement heifers for when breeders begin to rebuild the U.S. and Texas cow herds or seedstock bulls, this prospect checks a lot of boxes.

notype improvement. He is the product of embryo transfer, so you know that the dam is held in high regard as well. He has a big middle, excellent muscle pattern, very nice hip and a pedigree that has a ton of potential. We strongly believe that he is a seedstock herd sire prospect. If the Red Alliance program wasn’t as stacked as deeply as we are with high-quality herd sires, he would stay in our program. We cannot take credit for the development of 260. He was bred and raised originally by Paul Holton and his family in Cisco, Texas. They are retaining one-third semen interest in this bull. The name Hot Market describes this seedstock prospect very well. Sired by the wildly popular (and for good reason) Stockmarket E119 that has been one of the hottest AI sires in the breed for several years. His sons and daughters have been very consistent, phenotypically correct and with plenty of style. K19E’s dam comes from an outstanding donor dam out of the Jefferies program and was sired by none other than C-Bar Contour, another spoke in the wheel of excellence with the breeding in this prospect. Top of the breed at 1% for CED, BW, CEM and Marbling EPDs – Top 1%! Top 19% for ProS and GridMaster. We believe that when you evaluate his phenotype, breeding and EPDs, you will agree with us that he has the potential to be a stone cold seedstock prospect!

Excellent bull for commercial breeders looking for above-average frame. We really like this prospect – he always seems to stand out in the development pas tures. Just like his half-brother, 2322 that sells as Lot 8, he has 8 EPDs in the top one-third of the breed. Note that 2329 is a Category 1B bull and is more suited for a commercial breeder who wants to produce fancy calves. Same comment as referenced on lots 14 and 15. We cannot separate these two bulls. Both sired by One of A Kind and out of excellent dams. K25’s dam was sired by Badlands Opportunity that sold for $53,000 in Denver. She is a premiere-quality female in the breed. In regard to K714, his dam is another Freedom 4056-sired brood matron that is making her mark on this sale. Study the evenly balanced EPDs for both of these prospects. No extremes, great phenotypes and excellent pedigrees. If you are a two-bull buyer, take these two home and appreciate the results.

K101 was sired by one of the hottest AI sires in the breed, Crump New Decade. The dam is a high-performing, 100% commercial Red Angus cow that always delivers an excellent calf at weaning. His photo is impressive but seeing him in person is even more powerful. Heavy muscled, deep ribbed and a big hip. Despite his massive appeal, his breeding suggests that he will have calving ease when it comes to his progeny. K101 is a Category 3 commercial bull.

These two half-brothers were sired by a herd bull that our Red Alliance team was excited to add to our battery. He was an outstanding son of KJL/CLZB COMPLETE 7000E, who has become very popular in the Red Angus breed. Unfortunately, we lost him to an accident this past spring. These two prospects were raised by outstanding dams with proven track records. The EPDs are well above average with, once again, an emphasis on growth and carcass traits. Note that these two brothers are some of the youngest that we are offering in this sale. We believe that the Red Alliance program properly targeted the use of sires that are right for today’s cattle market.

These two bulls come from the Zerr Red Angus program in Oakley, Kan. Jerrad Zerr has become a good friend of our team. In 2022, we purchased a Mann Red Box ET son that we have added to our herd sire battery. You are going to see a lot of his progeny in future Red Alliance sales. We have appreciated the type of focus Zerr has on their program. These two bulls fit with what we are focused on for our current market conditions – growth! While we are impressed with the sires of these two lots, the quality of the dams is what we find most compelling about their pedigrees. Take a good look at their EPDs. Both of these bulls were March-born calves, so they are some of the younger bulls in the sale.

Without any question, this is the easiest fleshing bull offered in the sale today. He is packed with meat and muscle on a moderate-plus type of frame. The combination of Domain with a Peacemaker dam really clicked well on this final result. Dark red, deep ribbed, wide body and lots of hip. He will add meat and muscle to your calf crop! The economically relevant traits in his EPDs are easy to identify, but his phenotype is what will impress you the most.
