M y name is Carley Jones, and I am from Lake City, Fla. I am serv ing my second term on the junior board. While taking full advantage of – and thoroughly enjoying – my senior year of high school, I am already looking forward to moving to Georgia in the fall of 2023 to attend Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College

social media sure comes in handy when marketing. Every time I pick up my phone, I see some kind of advertisement. We, as breeders, can take advantage of these same (and mostly free) opportunities to advertise and promote cattle, sales and events. In addition to our personal profiles, social media groups and pages that are geared toward a specific audience have played a big part in online marketing. Selling CONTINUED ON PAGE 17 

in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness. With that degree and a future career in the agricultural field in mind, I’m glad I was chosen to submit an article in this month’s Santa Gertrudis USA . I think we can all agree on how attached everyone has become to their phones and how much social media has taken over the world. While it comes with its downsides,
