I f a new show family asked you, “Why Santa Gertrudis?” what would you say? Howdy. I’m Madison Moran, a 17-year old from Brenham, Texas. I am currently serving as the National Junior Santa Ger trudis Association (NJSGA) secretary and a District 1 director on the NJSGA Board. My love for Santa Gertrudis cattle was never a

a group. The key to keeping a strong membership is having benefits that members can enjoy. The SGBI Foundation is constantly giving back to the junior members in the form of generous scholarships to graduating seniors. Another benefit to our members is the outstanding donated heifer program that our breed has at the National Junior Santa Gertrudis Show. This is a huge talking point to get new members into the door when they are considering joining the association.
