pastures better and still maintain reg istered calves.” American Aberdeen-influenced cattle can be efficient in drought situations with well-managed mater nal traits, ability to breed back after stressful conditions, lower mainte nance requirements by sustaining on low-quality rations and maintaining muscle structure. “We are very happy with how these cattle have performed under these drought conditions,” Effertz con cludes. “We’re amazed at how our cattle have responded this winter and spring coming out of the hot, dry fall.” TL
