PRESIDENT ’S COLUMN CRAIG WALKER, DVM A s we are nearing the end of the year, I always look forward to the winter edition of The Led ger and get excited about what the new year will bring. We will kick off 2021 slightly differently with the National Show and Annual Meeting held in Woodward, Okla. Many things are still fluid, but the schedule and information about the host hotel and annual meeting can be found on page 18. Be sure to visit www.AmericanAberdeen.com for updates. We are in some weird “one-off” times. There have been moments where our products weren’t readily available to a consuming public and where uncer tainty guided most days. We can hide from it or we can jump right out in the middle of it. The one thing that has been brought front and center throughout this pandemic is that the consumer wants direct access to a wholesome food source. As American Aberdeen breeders, we should be jumping in head first to fill this void. Our cattle fit the demands of today’s consumer — they are effi cient, low input and have a small footprint.
