Wendt Ranches has a long history of breeding some of the most impactful sires in the Santa Gertrudis breed – Superman, Crackerjack, Buckeye, Partner, Sheriff and Wendt’s All Star are just a few examples. When we saw this 777 Vegas son at the 2019 Briggs Ranches Bull Sale, we knew his striking phenotype would fit our vision of producing the most eye-appealing performance cattle in the breed. Little did we realize his influence would result in Dreamboat adding his name to the long list of impactful Wendt Ranch sires. He has not disappointed as his offspring have averaged more than $6,000 in the annual Wendt Partner’s Baby Doll Sale. This past year alone, his seven daughters offered in the sale generated right at $50,000. Over the last four years, we have offered a very limited number of Dreamboat daughters, choosing instead to retain them for our cow herd. These big-topped, thick-made-yet-feminine females can be easily spotted when in a pen or out riding the pastures. Earlier this year, we made the difficult decision to offer Dreamboat 037E2 in this special event. We realize that Dreamboat off spring could dominate the show ring, and he needs to be heavily utilized in a true show cattle operation or someone looking to make remarkable replacement heifers. Full possession and 100% of semen rights sell. Wendt Partners will be retaining semen for in-herd use only. If Dreamboat sells for $100,000-plus, we will NOT sell any females until our 2025 Baby Doll Sale. One-year breeding guarantee. If anything happens to Dreamboat that prevents him from breeding or collecting semen, we will give buyer 1,000 straws of conventional semen. Passion Farms is offering the pick of two incredible heifers that are sired by Red Carpet 8520, a long, deep-sided, big hipped, powerhouse of a bull. He was purchased at the 2019 Red Hot Bull Sale for $37,000. Passion Farms PinUp Girl 1018 is a deep-bodied, easy-fleshing, dark cherry red, scurred heifer with five EPD traits in the Top 10%. Perfect teat and utter structure on a moderate, well-structured frame and out of a first calf heifer to boot. Passion Farms Siren 1019 is out of first calf heifer Red Doc 9420, who we purchased in the Red Doc Elite Cut 2020 Female Sale for $11,000. Siren 1019 has a balanced set of EPDs with six traits in the Top 35%. Long and smooth made with a perfect teat and udder structure. PinUp and Siren will both be scanned and ultrasounded before sale. They will both be AI’d mid-December with female sexed semen to the high-selling, $50,000 bull El Primero from the 2021 Tried and True sale.
