Hello Everyone, With this being our 20th anniversary sale, we are proud and yet feel very humble. First and foremost, we want to thank the hundreds of customers who have trusted us with their Red Angus bull and female purchases over the years. Your trust and confidence in us are the true measure of our success. We also want to thank some folks who have been very influential in making the Red Alliance a success. There were not very many, if any, programs like ours when we first began. Most folks who were selling bulls had to join large ranches and become cooperators. We effectively do the same thing, but all ranches in our program retain their identity. Heck, when we first started selling our bulls in Stillwater, Okla., at Oklahoma Beef Incorporated, there were no Red Angus sales in the state. Now, because of our successes, there are many Red Angus bull sales in Oklahoma. With our sale relocation to Texas several years ago, the cycle is repeating itself. With great appreciation we want to thank some of the folks who contributed so greatly to our beginning and our current program. Those folks begin with Kyle and Lisa Gilchrist, Tim and LaMecia Stidham, former partners Jerry Henderson, Jeff Earles, the late Wayne Ferguson and many others. Most recently, Keith Ogren, who develops our bulls at Five Counties Ranch, and Stephen Bradley at Groesbeck Auction and Livestock. Last, we want to thank Holly Holland and Lisa Bard at BluePrint Media for the wonderful work that they do on our advertising and catalogs. Holly is nothing short of lightning in a bottle! We owe these folks a debt of gratitude. Feel free to give anyone on our team a call with any questions you might have. We are here to help you! Come see us Thursday, March 10 at 12 p.m., or buy online through www.CCI.Live . Enjoy the cattle. There are some really good ones! The Red Alliance Team

Catalog will be posted digitally at www.redalliance.biz Hard copies of the catalog will be available on location sale day. Hard copies can be mailed out only on special request. Normally, we mail out roughly 1,000 catalogs. We have made this decision due to considerable inconsistencies with delivery of our catalogs by the postal service when sent by bulk delivery. In addition, the printing industry is surprisingly, or perhaps not so surprisingly, experiencing a shortage of print- quality paper. Who would have ever thought we would be in this sort of predicament?

We guarantee complete satisfaction for all cattle purchased in this manner. Breeding Guarantee All Red Angus bulls are guaranteed in accordance with terms and conditions recommended by the Red Angus Association of America. This guarantee does not cover mortality or injury and we encourage buyers to consider buying an insurance policy. All bulls covered by our guarantee will require that we retain salvage value for the bull. Any bull kept for 30 days immediately following the sale will incur a $1,000 “breeding use” fee to be applied to any settlement reached with the buyer. Any bulls returned to Red Alliance for non-performance will require a vet statement. The Texas Animal Health Commission requires a trichomoniasis test for bulls prior to being transported back to a Red Alliance mem- ber's ranch. Our guarantee does not cover injuries. We urge all buyers to carefully introduce new cattle into your existing herds with an abundance of caution. Most injuries to bulls are from fighting with other bulls, resulting in injuries to legs or testicles. Injuries can occur with females as well. All bulls returned for a guarantee claim must be returned to a member’s ranch within 14 days of submitting a claim. The guarantee will provide for a replacement bull of equal quality and value or a full purchase credit to be used in future Red Alliance auctions. Fertility Testing/Health Every bull has been fertility tested and has passed a breeding soundness exam. In addition, each bull has been tested for BVD-PI and vaccinated according to strict protocols required by Red Alliance. Testing for trichomoniasis is performed as required in accordance with Texas Animal Health Commission rules and regulations.

The Red Alliance Program The Red Alliance program is built in the same manner as large ranches that utilize Cooperator Herd systems, the only exception being that each of our producers retain their ranch identity (Herd Prefix tattoo). We do not add a master prefix before the cooperator’s prefix. Our members strongly subscribe to the use of artificial insemination, embryo transfer and outstanding herd sires in order to stay on the leading edge of genetic opportunities for our customers. It is the same general philosophy employed by all of the top breeder programs in the U.S., Red Alliance bulls are screened and evaluated multiple times – non-performers are eliminated. We develop the best bulls possible to maximize your profitability!

The Red Alliance Team Below is our team of professional Red Angus bull and female producers. If you have any questions regarding Red Angus cattle in the auction, feel free to give these folks a call.

Red Alliance Bull Development Center

Red Alliance Bull Development Center, located at Five Counties Ranch

We take great pride in our bull development. We also greatly appreciate Five Counties Ranch for their facilities, pastures and bull development program. Bull development is led by Keith Ogren and his team. They do an absolutely wonderful job. He is supported administratively by Cortney Young, who is equally important to our team. We could not be happier with the service and quality of care they provide. One aspect that we appreciate and that our customers value considerably is that the way our bulls are handled creates calm demeanors. Year in and year out, the disposition of our bulls starts at home but is further defined by Keith and his team. We cannot thank them enough. Our bulls are develo- ped in large grass pastures on high-quality Bermuda grass or hay, minerals and supplemented gradually at 1.5% of their body weight with a textured feed ration developed by LNC’s

professional nutritionists. They grow, with an emphasis on growing, not fattening. No bulk feeders. We want to deliver bulls to our customers in a body condition that fully expresses their genetic potential but, most important, ensures they’re ready to hit your pastures in an athletic condition. Many bull developers are feeding hundreds of bulls in a muddy feedlot with forage

supplemented through the feed ration. Most of them push for high average daily gains (ADG) with some reaching 4+ lbs. per day in order to reach high yearling weights. Bull development has a completely different end result than feeding a group of steers intended for maximum gain to reach kill weights as quickly as possible. As a result, their bulls get overfed, develop soft feet and do not have the stamina to WORK due to lack of exercise. You will not find that to be the case with our bulls. We encourage you to go to our website and read two very fine articles posted for your viewing. The first one is a white paper written by the experts at the Red Angus Association. It is titled, rightfully so, “Why all the Fat Bulls?” It is a 12-page document and, since it is written by an objective third party, you can appreciate the unbiased view of experts. The document is well worth the time it takes to read. In addition, you will find a separate document written by Heather Smith Thomas titled “Feeding and Managing Young Bulls.” We subscribe to their recommendations.

Red Alliance Yearling Bulls

Once again, this year and due to popular demand by customers we are offering a limited number of approximately 12 yearling bulls. We typically only offer age- advantaged bulls, but some customers say that they prefer to finish the develop - ment of a bull at their own ranch. Most often these bulls are used lightly for the first season with roughly one female per the bull’s month of age. For example, using a 14-month-old bull on 14 females. These bulls have been developed care- fully with longevity and good feet in mind. They will serve you well for many years to come if cared for properly after their first breeding season. Each of these bulls will be fertility tested and ready to work immediately. This hand-selected group represents some of the best genetics we will have in the sale. We love this sale facility. The people are great, the location is in the heart of Texas and it has an excellent restaurant on location. It is without question one of the cleanest and well-maintained facilities we have ever seen. We want to thank Stephen Bradley and other owners of this facility for welcoming us to their fine establishment. One aspect of their sale facility that we absolutely love is that the seating area is large. With all of the concerns about social distancing, the ample seating area is ideal. The large seating area, combined with online bidding through CCI.Live, will make our sale very safe for everyone to attend, whether it is in person or virtually. Folks, you will be very impressed and pleased with this facility! Groesbeck Auction & Livestock Facility

Red Angus Guide to EPDS and Indexes

ProS ... Profitability and Sustainability is an all-purpose index that predicts average economic differences in all segments in the beef supply chain. This index is a combination of the breeding objectives modeled in the HerdBuilder and GridMaster selection indexes. In this index, replacement heifers are retained from within the herd and all remaining progeny are fed out to slaughter and sold on a quality-based grid. Traits included in this index include calving ease, growth, HPG, STAY, Mature Weight, Dry Matter Intake and carcass traits. The resulting index is expressed in dollars per head born (Index/High Value).

HB ..... HerdBuilder is a maternal selection index that predicts the economic differences of animals for traits that are important from conception through weaning. Expressed as dollars per head born, HB is calculated based on the scenario that bulls are mated to heifers and cows, replacement heifers are retained and all remaining progeny are marketed at weaning. Traits included in the HB index include Calving Ease Direct, Calving Ease Maternal, Weaning Weight, Milk, Mature Weight, Heifer Pregnancy and Stayability (Index/High Value).

GM..... GridMaster is a selection index that predicts the average economic difference of non-replacement calves through the post- weaning phase of production. GM places selection pressure on growth, feedyard performance and carcass traits. Expressed as dollars per head born, GM is calculated based on the scenario that progeny are fed out to slaughter and marketed on a quality-based carcass grid. Traits included in GM include Average Daily Gain, Carcass Weight, Dry Matter Intake, Marbling, Back Fat and Rib Eye Area (Index/High Value).

CED ....... Calving Ease Direct predicts differences in the percent of calves born unassisted out of 2-year-old dams. (Percent/High Value) BW ........ Birth Weight predicts differences in actual birth weight of progeny. (Pounds/Low Value) WW .......Weaning Weight predicts differences in 205-day weaning weight. (Pounds/High Value) YW ........ Yearling Weight predicts differences in 365-day yearling weight. (Pounds/High Value) ADG ....... Average Daily Gain predicts differences in weight gain between 205 and 365 days of age. (Pounds/High Value) DMI ....... Dry Matter Intake predicts differences in daily feed intake as measured in a feedlot during the post-weaning period. (Pounds/Low Value) MILK .....Milk predicts differences in weaning weight attributed to the milking ability of the animal’s daughters. (Pounds/High Value) ME ........Maintenance Energy predicts the difference in maintence energy requirements. (Mcal per Month/Low Value) HPG ....... Heifer Pregnancy predicts differences in the percent of daughters who are able to conceive and calve at 2 years of age following exposure to breeding. (Percent/High Value)

CEM ...... Calving Ease Maternal predicts differences in the percent of daughters who are able to calve unassisted as 2-year-old heifers. (Percent/High Value) STAY ...... Stayability predicts differences in the ability of an animals’ retained daughters to remain productive in the herd – calve every year – through 6 years of age. (Percent/High Value) MARB ....Marbling predicts differences in marbling score – amount of intramuscular fat measured at the 13th rib. (Marbling Score Units/High Value) YG ......... Yield Grade predicts differences in USDA Yield Grade, which is calculated using CW, REA and Fat. (Yield Grade Units/Low Value) CW ........ Carcass Weight predicts differences in actual hot carcass weight. (Pounds/High Value) REA ....... Ribeye Area predicts differences in square inches of ribeye area measured at the 13th rib.(Square Inches/High Value) FAT ........ Fat predicts differences in the depth of backfat measured between the 12th and 13th ribs. (Inches/Low Value)

AGE-ADVANTAGED RED ANGUS BULLS Our bulls are developed in environments that are the same as what they will experience in your pastures: hot dry summers, cold winters, wind-driven rain, sleet, ice and on grass pastures. Just like what you have on your ranches. Our photos represent clipped heads, tails and sheaths; they are in their working clothes other than that and would have no idea what it is like to be washed and blown dry like a show-ring animal. In addition, they were not de- veloped in a feedlot pen like steers going to a packer. All photos in this catalog were taken in December, so their progression since that time will be better reflected in our videos that will be posted online at www.redalliance.biz and at www.CCI.Live . The sire groups represented are excellent. We are excited about offering the first set of Steel Caps Incredibow and WF Red Allegiance bulls. They have really performed well while being developed. Other sires like High Endurance, Stormy Horizon, One Of A Kind, Ice Storm, Dyna Power, 7709E, Right Type and Syndicate have been high performers for many years. We hope that you will enjoy this offering.

LOTS 1, 2 & 3 We knew when we were developing this catalog that we wanted to lead off with one of the Wickman Farms Red Allegiance sons. The question was, which one? We could not decide so we are leading off with three of them. WF Red Allegiance is a powerful herd sire and is a direct son of HXC Allegiance 5502C, one of the most popular and proven sires standing at stud for ABS Global. All three of these bulls have progressed exactly the way we want high-performing bulls to develop – structurally correct, easy moving with good dispositions. Each of these bulls will be 18 months old, weigh approximately 1,400 lbs. by sale day and be ready for immediate service.

LOTS 4 & 5 These seedstock-quality herd sire prospects are full brothers by virtue of embryo transfer. Their sire is none other than Gilchrist High Endurance who has served as a herd sire for Wickman Farms, Star G Red Angus and Whisnand Red Angus with semen selling to progressive-minded Red Angus breeders. The dam is a very powerful daughter of the highly popular Bieber Hard Drive and descended from one of the highest performing cow families in the breed – Flo Marie.

These prospects are very deserving of going into seedstock programs where they can share their genetics toward improving the Red Angus gene pool. Their EPDs are simply outstanding; in particular, they stand out with ProS at Top 14% of the breed and Grid- Master at 7%. Other economically relevant EPDs traits include WW 8%, YW 4%, ADG 3%, Marb 32%, YG 16%, CW 6% and REA 6%. That’s 7 traits in the Top 16 % or better with one trait in the top one-third of the breed. No matter where else you shop for seed- stock herd sires, these are two of the best prospects in the breed.

One more seedstock herd sire prospect for your consideration. 0106 has one of the most genetically stacked pedigrees you will find anywhere in the breed. His sire, Steel Caps Incredibow 8114, descends from Feddes Silver Bow and JYJ Redemption, an incredibly consistent group of high-performing, breed-leading genetic sires. On the dam’s side of his pedigree, the maternal sire is the great HXC Syndicate P707 5013C and 3J One of a Kind A228. This pedigree is stacked and built for breeders that not only want numbers in their pedigrees, but also phenotypic style and highly proven performance genetically. His EPDs are nothing short of excellent with top-of-the-breed leading performance traits for ProS 5%, HerdBuilder 14% and GridMaster 15%. Top one-third or better of the breed for growth traits, Milk, Stay, Marb and CW. To top it all off, he is a chunk of meat. You will appreciate his phenotype and disposition. Use him to advance genetics in your herd – and the breed!

• This sire is a straightbred 100% Red Angus bull. Due to moving from one ranch to another, some calves were inadvertently separated from their dams. We just were not able to get all of the calves paired up with their dams. • Sired by Incredibow who has very quickly proven to be a high performer. • He stands out when you walk into the pens. • Commercial cattleman’s type of bull – full of muscle yet will have calving ease.

LOTS 10, 11, 12 & 13 We routinely hear from commercial customers that they look for multiple bulls that are sired by one sire. They want half-sibs so that their calf crop has greater consistency at weaning time and, ultimately, all the way to the rail. Whether you sell after weaning or retain ownership all the way to the packer, buying half-brothers makes good business sense for large-scale ranches. Lots 10-13 are all sired by Gilchrist Stormy Horizon, one of the top sellers through the Red Alliance program several years ago. All four of these bulls are calving ease bulls with growth performance, as well.
