We have witnessed the value of hybrid vigor and superi- or genetics in our commercial herd for many years. Carrying on our cattle operation with these exceptional females is the next chapter for us. KLK - K Lazy K Ranch (Angus & Stabiliz- ers) K Lazy K Ranch is a fourth generation commercial angus ranch located in the grassland above the Missouri River near Highmore South Dakota. The Kusser family started using Leachman bulls in the early 1990’s, and in 1998, bred the first heifers to New Design 1407 and provided the carcass data to Leachman Cattle Co. For the past 20 years, Kussers have AI’d all their heifers and most of the mature cows with an eye toward moderate frames, efficiency and high carcass quality. In recent years the steers from the K Lazy K herd, with their deep Leachman genetics, have been used for carcass testing to provide the efficiency data for LCoC. Since 2014, Jerry and the Kusser family are getting more involved in the Stabilizer business as they’ve been AI’ing their angus cows to some of the top LCoC Stabilizer bulls.
